Duane rocking out in '68.
Wail on, Skydog!
That's a new one to me. Where is he? If it's Fla., I'd guess no further south than JAX (due to the jacket).
Posted by: Carl in Atlanta at December 19, 2007 05:54 AMThis is a new one for me too Carl. Donnah, I don't know how or where you find these jewels for us so I will just say a great big thank you for my early Christmas present. To all the "Duaneiacs" out there have a Happy and safe Holiday season.
Wail on, Skydog!

Posted by: richard at December 19, 2007 10:25 AMBefore I had ever seen a picture, I knew, I KNEW this was the way Duane played the guitar. T will now give you a Duane Haiku.

Thank you Donnah, with all the breadth and width of my thanker !
I've never seen a pic of him playing a Strat before. Cool.
Posted by: John Masters at December 19, 2007 03:36 PMWay cool Haiku! Like Duane playing guitar, less is more! :>
This is the same Strat Duane used in his studio days before the Pauls.
Posted by: remember Duane at December 19, 2007 09:26 PMWow sweet pic! He was always way into it, just him and his guitar wailing out incredible tunes!
Thanks Donnah, Merry Christmas to you all!
(we just had ANOTHER storm up here... we have 3 ft snowbanks and it isnt even 'winter' yet!)
And on my quest for 'that tone'.. I got a little new Vox that Im not sold on, so Im trading it for an all-tube AC15 CC1. Cuz Duane used a Vox! (I know his was way cooler and bigger, but this one is budgetted and sounds good nuff to me I think.)
Lookin to Skydog,
Who never stops Wailin on!
