Another from the STP series. Nice boots.
Wail on, Skydog!
My my my.. Now THAT looks like my sort of venue...
I can smell the Barbque all the way over here..lol.
This had to be around the Beginings album, based on Butch's hat.
Posted by: csason at December 28, 2007 02:05 PMNow I'm not so embarrassed that I work out the whole timeline by clothing.
Posted by: Donnah at December 28, 2007 02:18 PMWhy, Donnah...I thought we had established the Lace
Period, I guess we should name this period, also..
The whole 'time period' thing is as natural as judging distance in minutes...
Posted by: csason at December 28, 2007 07:27 PMDid you use the Photoshop 'Gregg-be-gone' tool?
Posted by: mike the bike at December 28, 2007 10:18 PMActually, I purchase that product in a spray can.
Posted by: Donnah at December 28, 2007 11:29 PMNICE one! Yea my kinda venue, too. (if I had a group to play with that is)
I'd like to have em all surrounding me and really feel their excitement up close like that, instead of miles away on a high, in-set stage.
Dickeys bar-chording away on an ES 335 there.
Oh and look at Duanes guns... he's lookin beefy there haha.
...Of all these things.. what I come to look at is all that gear stacked up in the back. TONS of cabs and amps HAH! I can see a few Marshall 4-12s, a Marshall superlead 100 above Jaimoes congos(Dickeys I guess) And way on the right above Butch I see a Marshall head and slant cab (Prob Duanes)
All the rest of the heads I cant figure out but they were makin some noise!
Thanks for another great one Donnah, and Happy New Year to you all!
Keep Wailin On, Brother Duane!
Also interesting is the wah pedal and no mics on the drums. Back when they just pounded them to be loud. Of course with stacks of big amps that was not easy. What was that weird thing on the front of the organ?
Somebody please clue me as to why there is an ongoing "Greg Be Gone" issue. I guess I'm kinda slow or maybe nobody ever told me what it's all about.
Posted by: S.Slim at January 1, 2008 09:22 PMDonnah never has been fond of baby bro, Gene..
He kind of lost my respect at one time..and not much has changed.
As far as the object, you mean the round gong looking thing ?? hmmm
Posted by: csason at January 1, 2008 10:25 PMYea the Wah is Dickeys. He uses it more later on, but I dont recall ANY during Duanes time. Anyone enlighten me? He might have possibly used it in a studio version of one or 2 songs, but I dont remember...
Oh ya.. and I plugged in my 'Fillmore Set' equipped guitar to my Vox AC15CC1 and it MATCHED the sound of the Fillmore East 1970 video. I played right along and it was as close as it gets! SO PSYCHED my quest is OVER! I got the sound,
my FAVORITE sound!
