Thanks Donna for the really cool clips! He is the only musician that I actually feel like I have known personally. (never met him, wish I could have been that lucky)

After reading about how cool and kind the cat was...listening to his music makes you feel like he was a personal friend of mine, and I guess in a way he is, and will always be as long as all of us Duaneheads rock to his roll.

God Bless all and hope you all have a happy and prosperous New Year!

And happiness is more important than gold! Happy New Year everybody!

Especially Donna who brings out all these great pictures and links that makes us feel closer to our #1 Guitar Hero...Mr Duane Allman! God bless his soul...Wail on, Skydog, Wail on! :>

ooohh ooooh That first pic really looks like the railing at Gamble mansion..but it also looks a little like the railing at Rose Hill, regardless
a fine 'connoisseur' pic of Duane..in other words
it wouldn't mean a thing to your average passerby.

Donnah, I trust you had a warm Christmas..didn't get much snow the other day...and wish you a safe and healthy 2008.

Regards for the second year..or maybe third of my patronage.

As always, Thank you for the really cool Duane
Allman pics.

I am the wife of one of the carvers of the Remember Duane Allman dirt carving that you wrote about in March 2005. Well, I need to give you "the rest of the story". In October 2007, Gregg A. was to perform at one of the casinos here in Vicksburg and the local paper wanted to do a story about the carving and the guys to tie in with the concert. Now, here is the thing - my husband, David Reid, had just gotten out of the hospital the day before, but he got everyone together and there was a great article and pictures on the front page of the paper. One of the things that really touched the guys was the fact that Gregg said that his mom had a picture of the carving hanging in her living room for the last 30 or so years, so on the night of the concert, which we got to go to for free, David presented Gregg with a framed copy with THEIR autographs on it. Gregg was very touched by the gesture. There was a great picture of the four of them with Gregg in the paper the next day.
Well, that was a very important day for David, an "attaboy" for something done over 34 years earlier. You see, David passed away on December 2, in my arms, with his children and mother and friends gathered around. Don't you just know that he has hooked up with Duane by now to complete the story? I like to think that the two of them are "wailing on"!
I just thought that you would be interested in knowing all of this. And yes, I miss him terribly, but I will be reunited with him someday. We knew it was coming, he had been fighting cancer for over three years, so, the timing of the Gregg concert couldn't have been better. It was a wonderful night. Thanks for letting me write this much!
