Scorched Earth Or Joint Ticket

Continued months of the former would be more entertaining, but we'll see if cooler (DNC) heads prevail:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hinted at the possibility of a Democratic "dream ticket" with Sen. Barack Obama.

Speaking on "The Early Show" on CBS, Clinton said "that may be where this is headed, but of course we have to decide who is on the top of the ticket."

Clinton said the race between her and Obama remains "incredibly close," with just "smidgens of difference" between them in both the popular vote and number of delegates.

Clinton's remarks came after her campaign won two big states yesterday: Ohio and Texas. She also won Rhode Island. The wins enabled her campaign to break Obama's 12-state winning streak and pick up some momentum of its own.

Speaking later on "The Early Show," Obama congratulated Clinton on her victories while maintaining he would be able to wrap up the Democratic nomination.

"We still have close to an insurmountable lead in delegates," Obama said. Obama said his campaign had won nearly twice as many states as Clinton as well as a greater share of the popular vote.

The DNC powers-that-be won't want this race to continue now that McCain has won the Republican nomination, but I say why shy away from a good cage match?

If it's a joint ticket, I can't see either one of them inhaling.

Like her husband, Hillary would never allow someone as a running mate that could steal the spotlight from her and let's face it, she has such a negative personality that you can easily attribute much of Obama's draw because he offers an alternative to HER.

Hillary would be a far less benign robot-like presence in an Obama White House (shudder at that concept) than Al Gore was in Bill's House-O-Interns. If you were Obama, would you want her stalking around as the "heart beat away" from the presidency?

Great comment, as always.

My very liberal husband is leaning toward McCain. He sees Obama as a cipher, but his antipathy is for having too many Clintons and Bushes in a row.

I know Hillary was sending a message with her joint ticket statement. She plays hardball and *will* take this thing all the way to the end, party be damned. If the DNC can influence either of the two candidates, my guess is that it would be Obama. I think her ego is bigger than his and she had to eat a whole lot more shit to get where she is than he did. She's Joan Crawford in a pantsuit.

She'd definitely be a scary vice-president for a president to have.

Barak H Oboma visits Ft Marcy Park

But its not going to happen as evidenced by his snappy comeback line. Like tfhr says, she's to driven to allow anything other than a dim bulb to be on the ticket.
