Motor City Mummy

It's interesting how death rites differ in various regions of the country:

Detroit police say they've found the partially mummified body of a woman in her 80s on the kitchen floor of a house where her mentally troubled sister was living.

Police say they believe the surviving sister had been living with the body for one to three years. They say the body was partially covered with newspapers and that a cat and dog apparently ate part of it.

Down here we usually bury our dead. It might be that way though because, it being so darn humid around here, mummifying just never got a chance to catch on.

Now Donnah.. you know full well if you want to mummify someone in the south you have to use swamp grease and fat back..

Hillary is a mummy
McCain is a mummified
and Obama tries to cover his mummies up, like the lady in your story.

Obama isn't trying to cover anything up..he is tooo
evolved to have to stoop to anything *that* low.

I think Barrack Hussein Obama just has a new vision for America, one that isn't so slanted against folks of color, an America where just because someone actually qualifies for a position doesn't actually mean they get a shot at it..and an America where
white people can get a chance to purge themselves of this awful guilt for their slaver heritage they have been lugging around all these centuries.

I've been feeling rather guilty lately...you know, after MY childhood here in the south, waking up to the sound of my Daddy's Deville cracking over the bones of slaves in our driveway...but the worst
remembrance I had was cleaning the whips, and helping Mama hang out the Klan hoods to dry after
a busy hanging week.

I'm with the ever so well known Michelle Obama (the Beatles wrote 'Michelle' after her you know..;) I too am finally proud to be an American.

In fact, I have already sent my application in for one of those 9-5 jobs at the Research and Development projects for renewable energy and cleaner energy that the gubment will soon have.

I just want an end to this madness of creating new diseases to harm black people, like HIV.

What have they done to teh white people to deserve
being treated that way..it can't be because of the
justice departments annual reports about the nearly 40, 000 white women that are raped each year by blacks vs. the big fat egg of white on black rapes..it has to be the HIV, it just has to be.

Obama is right. Blacks are disadvantaged in America, the mexican's proved that.

ROFL why do I find that post funny? LOL just the thought of the dog and kitty taking a bite out of the old lady. Oy! Glad I found your blog again, it's been a few years! Jess

Laughing Out Loud at what "nancy" wrote (^^).

On a related, icky note, when I lived in Hawaii, there was this pathway that I'd follow weekly (or more often if needed) to and from my condo to the store area on the Island. After many years of that, the pathway was very well known to me, every inch of it, all the conditions the entire length of it (about a mile or so).

A "bad smell" started appearing at a certain area of that pathway and it was unmistakable as to what the smell was caused by. Yet there wasn't any road kill around.

Eventually, the newspaper ran the bad news that there was found -- right behind the local P.O. and only a few feet from the roadway/pathway that I'd used all those years -- some fellow found hanging mummified from a tree in the bush aside the buildings. The bush was so thick that no one could visually see what was in there except a few treetops amidst the Hawaii-heat-sun-burned scrub, and on one of those trees, was the poor guy.

He'd taken his own life by hanging and in the hot/dry/Hawaii environment, his poor remains had mummified. So he'd been found a few years after his death yet was "remarkably" "well preserved."

What bothered me as much as this poor guy's suicide was that I'd passed by so closely and so often through the years and never known he was just right there, feet away from the path and roadway, as had most if not all the Island's population...FOR YEARS.

(I forgot the most gothic aspect, so here it is):

There was also an ongoing colony of feril cats that lived just feet away from where the poor fellow hung mummified, and all the neighborhood Cat Ladies would visit them often, leaving food galore on the ground to the side of this path/roadway, aside the P.O. buildng. Yet no one looked up...

I hate cats.

and since it's happened a *few* times to me, I also
hate finding dead people.
