A Texas father who is the lone survivor of the massacre of his family which was planned by his 16-year-old daughter and carried out by her boyfriend, has asked the judge to let her come home with him:
16 year old Erin Caffey made her first appearance before a Rains County Judge Monday.Caffey and three co-defendants are all accused of killing her mother Penny Caffey and her brothers Matthew and Tyler Caffey, before setting the family's house on fire in Emory. Erin Caffey's father Terry was shot several times in the attack, but survived. Ironically, he was one of those in court asking for Erin to be allowed to come back home.
Before the judge issued a gag order, defense attorneys confirmed that Terry Caffey testified on his daughter's behalf, asking that she be allowed to go home with him rather than staying in juvenile custody in Hunt County.
The judge said no.
It was probably a wise decision considering both the severity of the crime and the fact that she'd only known the guy a couple of weeks before deciding he was worth killing her interfering parents for. I guess the little brothers' murders were something of a freebie.
Ah, daughters. They're so tough to raise. Sometimes the best you can do is put them on the pill and point them in the direction of the football team.

Daughters ARE tough to raise...don't even ask.

Posted by: James at May 7, 2008 03:27 PMGlad you asked, James.. Last I heard, she'd married a guy, couple..maybe three times older than her, and was selling clips of the whole thing to the highest bidder...probably doing quite well.
Posted by: csason at May 7, 2008 05:14 PMMy Son's are much easier to raise than my daughters were. For one thing the girls were way too moody, must have been the hormones. All I know is they wore me out mentally. Don't get me wrong the boys can be a handful too, but in a different way.
I can't believe the dumbass dad was wanting to take her home!...HELLO?
