I don't know. Maybe it's Lucinda and Gorf Morlix on the stereo dong "I Can't Let Go" (Lucinda on dobro and 2 slide masters crankin'!" Maybe it's the two-hit wake-n-bake tea! But when this photo flashed into my world, four decades came tumblin' down.

Duane was playing that note for all of us, as if to say, "If you are looking at my guitar strap, now close your eyes, and with the next 8 notes I will send you to Jupiter!"

Thanks Donnah!

Now there is a knock at the door. I'm hit the off switch, grab my "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" CD, stuff it in my jeans, pull them on, and open the bedroom window. "Sorry honey, gotta go; that might be your old man down there, There's just "one way out" -- I gotta go!"

"But don't worry mama, 'cause "I just can't let go."

Playing with a pick.....

"I got the sit down, can't cry, oh Lord I wanna die blues."

Is this a studio photo? Is that the reason for the headphones? Or was he listening to "The Carpenters" and figuring a way to make them listenable?

So much for the 'he didn't use a pick' theory...

Thanks again Donnah... What WOULD a Wednesday
be without a good cracker pic of Skydog ??

Pretty damn boring..that's what.

It's still the holiday weekend folks -- Saturday and Sunday we are still remembering the patriotic men and women who have served this country since the "Battle of Tripoli".

You men and women at arms right now -- I bet you feel as if you had been tied the the "Whipping Post". Thank you for your service.

Happy 5th! -- yea Owen, I did mean both the date and a fifth of bourbon -- you caught me. :-)

This is an interesting photo - all of the others I've seen Skydog playing slide he's using the 61 SG. Thanks for sharing!

You should check the archives..most of them are
him playing either Hot Lanta...or that other fancy burst...The tobacco burst.

As far as the 'SG'..I thought it was a Les Paul, just the new style introduced in '60..

Hey Donnah! I've been looking at all her Wednesday pics the last week or so, going all the way back. Love them! Duane was certainly a nice-looking guy, even if he did have a taste for bizarre shirts. Maybe they weren't so bizarre back then. I mean, when I was a young teen, WINDSUITS were considered stylish! And the Rachel haircut, which only looked good on Rachel. lol
I have that much earlier pic you posted of Duane asleep with his guitar on my cell phone, it is so cute. Makes me want to drop down and take a catnap alongside him.
Anyway, thanks much for all the great pics and info! I may be much younger than your usual fans, but you don't mind, do you? :)
Love ya and wail on and have fun and eat lots of peaches and all the rest,
Starla
