I love this series of pictures! You get to see some of DA's personality in them. Thank you Donna!

Wail on, Skydog!

Yep, adorable! Cindy said it three times, so I don't guess I need to say any more than that. :)

I was going to say, in agreement with Donna, that you can really see into his personality here. But, Little Starla takes the door prize: I will lose my fear and say what all the girls say: "Isn't he just so adorable you want to hug him?" Admit it girls; this is where A Florida Woman Rules The Net. It's safe here. ;-)

So close..yet so far.

He loved those scooters..I wonder if a silk
screened Lester were available on a black T..
If he would have worn those also..

Now that I think about it..It was Duane that started the silk-screen shirt craze..STP, Triumph...
Now, Dewey Barber has someone else to look up to.

Thank You Florida Cracker for the fine picture
of our hero...!!

p.s.
Do you think Obama will outlaw the use of the word
cracker...?

No need to give me a prize, the pic is prize enough in itself. Some of you guys can make fun of us if you want to, but sticks and stones... :)

Posted by: Little Starla at July 16, 2008 03:05 PM

Geez Louise, I didn't mean to repeat myself! Sorry about that, don't know what happened. And yes Paco, "he's so adorable you just want to hug him"...also want to feed his skinny butt...not to mentioned wanting to hear him wail away some more.:(

Wail on, Skydog!

Posted by: cindy at July 16, 2008 04:40 PM

See, that's how I feel too. I want to feed him and then pop over to Penney's and get him some shirts.

Posted by: Donnah at July 16, 2008 04:51 PM

Whoa, Cindy, HANDS OFF! THAT IS MINE! *stands up as tall as possible and prepares to do full-on battle royal, because, Starla has learned, a girl only four foot ten can't let other girls crowd her out* You just go right on to the back of that line there and wait your turn! If it ever comes around, that is. lol :)

Posted by: Little Starla at July 16, 2008 04:56 PM

Ohhhh... Oh no! Oh gosh, Cindy! I misread your last post, and where you said "feed his skinny butt" I read "feel." Oh my lord! *runs and hides* And here I was about ready to start a catfight with you. I'm so sorry! Damn me and my dirty mind and dusty monitor! *emerges bravely, holds out hand* Truce? For now at least? :)

Posted by: Little Starla at July 16, 2008 05:28 PM

Thanks for the pic, Donnah. Y'all can feed/feel his skinny butt all you want to, I just want to master the slide licks he left us. :-)

Posted by: mike at July 16, 2008 09:31 PM

Damn..

I walk out of the room for five minutes...

And y'all done stripped the guy down..felt him, fed him..dressed him up in Penney's clothes and just
ruined Paco's moment..

Citation error: It is Cindy (my apologies) who I agree with fully in the observations that not only you can see his vulnerable personality in this photo, but also as to his adorability to the dames here.

Owen, fear not, that was a velvet grenade I threw out, actually a velvet rock star, so the ladies here would storm from the wood work with maternal hormones a surgin'. Owen, it's been 3 weeks of just you and me and Duane here on Wednesday! I don't love you that much.

Ladies, he was busy reinventing blues rock for the next thousand years. He is already reincarnated, but is still taking piano lessons. Patience, he will need the food more to fight off ClearChannel and MCA records than he did in his last incarnation.

All you had to do was ask. Think of me as the Helen Gurly Brown of Rock.

Posted by: Paco Malo at July 17, 2008 07:19 AM

*speaks softly and meekly, eyes respectfully downcast* Yes, Mother Helen. As you say, Mother Helen.
*becomes less meek, flashes teasing smile* Hmmm, is somebody feeling a bit... jealous? Jealous they haven't been stripped down, fed/felt and redressed in nice clothes? No need to sulk! Ask us nice, give us a little sweet talk, and maybe we'll just see what we can do. :)

Posted by: Little Starla at July 17, 2008 07:53 AM

bwwaaahhhh I am lmao! How did we get so far off in left field yesterday? Yes Mr. Howard Duane Allman brings out the mother instincts in us ladies. I guess we feel like maybe we could have changed things? Of course we know better than that but we can dream. As far as "feeling" him....only with my soul Sista ;). And if you believe that I got some water front property for you in Arizona! Ya'll have a great week...until next Wednesday...Wail on, Skydog!

Posted by: cindy at July 17, 2008 12:05 PM

I don't know about motherly instincts, but you may be right. lol The reason we girls latch onto the "bad boys" is not so we can change them and make them "good boys" but so a little bit can rub off on us and we can be "bad girls." :)

Posted by: Little Starla at July 17, 2008 01:32 PM

Owen, a while back I think you mentioned a baby on the way. Has he/she come yet?

Posted by: nancy at July 17, 2008 02:30 PM

Nancy...

It will be about six months or so..

My son's first.

Posted by: csason at July 17, 2008 10:12 PM

I'm skinny; I play guitar; I'm hugry; I feel like I'm tied to the "Whippin' Post." What's a fella gotta do, Owen -- re-arrange "Little Martha" for presentation as a symphony?

Ladies, remember, that are mere mortals that come here (i.e. old men like Owen and I.

(Owen: my neighbor just got a three thousand dollar Les Paul starburst for $400 off a desperate musician. The guitar is even better than my Asat Classic. You would love it.)

Donnah! Another successful Wednesday. This has been one of the best Comment sections in my year here. All hail, Donnah, Starla, Cindy, Nancy (shout out to Mike) and all Duane fans of his favorite gender.

:-)

Posted by: Paco Malo at July 19, 2008 05:20 AM

Oh Paco! Feeling a little lonely here? Come on over, baby! I'll feed you and take care of you good! The added advantage is I don't *think* I'll have to fight Cindy for you.
And just a thought: if you feel like doing something different to Little Martha, remember that Little Starla is very close to that... lol

Posted by: Little Starla at July 19, 2008 08:38 AM

Yes, Paco.. this one looks like it might actually get into the top ten. It's a great picture of Duane..the lonesome puppy slide rock guitarist, with
the motorcycle/corduroy thing going on.
We haven't even heard from Ben yet, either.

I will only tell the beginning of this story..MY
neighbor acquired an all original '59 DC Junior..I
will say for under $1000...how's that ?

It is gone now.. :( He seems to be blessed with a knack for locating these wonderful deals..I think it's because he lost everything a few years ago in a fire.
Regardless, it was one of the finest instruments I have ever played..

Posted by: csason at July 19, 2008 01:01 PM

I don't think we really want to know just how your friend accomplished this wondrous feat of acquisition. I have the distinct impression his method may be somehow illegal, immoral, fattening or some combination of the above. :)

Posted by: Little Starla at July 19, 2008 01:42 PM

Nothing illegal occurred at all..he bought it fair and square..but these 'acquisitions' usually involve a story..as does this one. I just didn't see any point in playing the entire scenario out.

I guess it was somewhat fattening...in the wallet, anyway.

Mine was a gearhead comment anyway...we get a free ride around here on Wednesday's..

Hey did anybody else notice the smoke from that guy's cig is forming the shape of an angel over Duane's shoulder .. ??

Posted by: csason at July 20, 2008 05:09 PM

An angel? I thought it was a flyign squirrel, myself. lol

How great is a website that posts a picture of DA every Wednesday?! It's like Christmas once a week. Thanks. I'll look forward to a weekly present.
