Biden My Time 'Til Nov. 4

If ever there's a movie made of Joe Biden's life, I think Leslie Nielson would be pitch-perfect in the lead role:

In introducing local elected officials, from Ninth District Congressional candidate Judy Baker to former Gov. Roger Wilson, Biden tried to give a special recognition to Sen. Chuck Graham of Columbia.

“Chuck, stand up, let the people see you,” Biden says. He was a bit chagrined when he realized that Graham uses a wheelchair. He recovered quickly and told the crowd to “stand up for Chuck.” The crowd responded with a standing cheer for Graham.

He need only resummon the gravitas he displayed as Commander John J. Adams in "Forbidden Planet" to have his subject down cold.

Yeah, Biden has a history of putting his foot in his mouth, as do so many politicians (anybody remember a guy named Quayle?) He's more than once incorrectly claimed his wife and daughter were killed by "a man who chose to drink his lunch." In fact there was an article in the Wilmington News Journal about this only last week I think. The prosecutor at the time was quoted as saying the accident was not caused by alcohol. Yet Biden has said it was on other occasions. I guess he feels like having a wife and child die in a car wreck just isn't tragic or sympathy-garnering enough and throws in the evil drunken driver for good measure. Not cool.
Nevertheless, in this, my adopted home state, Biden is generally very well-liked and respected.

Actually, Biden was probably thinking HE was drinking his lunch ...
He looked pretty snockered the other day on the stump.

I have to say it seems to me he should have known, but if not, at least one of his aids would have let him know..but then again, If I worked for Joe..I'd let him swallow his whole leg as much as I could get away with it.
I just don't like the fake, and never have.
He strikes me as a 'ladies man'.

If he is a ladies' man, he has at least been discreet about it, because I don't remember ever hearing that he managed to get in hot water over it.

I just think he is wormy about his politicking.

Speaking of John Adams.. It is a great series.
