Outtake from the Fillmore East cover.
Wail on, Skydog!
Hahha, what a bunch of badasses.
I didnt know there were more shots from this cover set for the Fillmore album.
I love how everyones still smiling except the brothers, HA!
I think this is the only picture I've ever seen where Duane looks mad.
And Duane is showing us another tool for playing such excellent guitar; LOOOOONG fingers... gotta be at least an inch longer than mine.
"Aw, you guys weren't scowlin like we were?? Hell, we cant use that one..."
Posted by: Ben at October 1, 2008 09:19 AMF***N Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!! He may be scowlin' but I still see a smile! Thank you Donna. Happy Wailing to all!!
Posted by: Willard at October 1, 2008 10:28 AMCute! I too can see a smile lurking behind the scowl.
Ditto on the long-fingers thing. If he didn't play the guitar, he could always have made a name for himself as a pickpocket. lol
Glad to have you back, Miss Donnah! We missed you!
He might be scowlin but he still has his hot little left hand around his "stash"! And notice he had to be a little different sending his birdie flying east to west instead of the same old north/south deal! The musician of all musicians and a damn fine sense of humor too. What a guy!!!! The only thing about this series of pics.....they make his head look huge!
Welcome home Donnah....hope you had a good trip!
And as always....thank you.
Wail on, Skydog!
Posted by: cindy at October 1, 2008 12:31 PMI think most everyone's head looks big when they get their picture taken, if their face was focused in right.
Posted by: Starla Darling at October 1, 2008 04:31 PMLooks like Jaimoe is giving us a whole 4 pack.
Posted by: alan at October 1, 2008 07:14 PMWry sense of humor, no? Looks like they were having fun at someone's expense.
New desktop background too btw ;p
Thanks Donnah.
Posted by: Gmac at October 1, 2008 08:45 PMJaimoe, ever the elder statesman..
on the ABB:
Preserved in time forever more..
This kaleidoscope of *ruffians*..
Poised to make history.
I'm in *Boca Raton* right now..the pits.
Hah, yea. Jaimoe is tellin them to 'read between the lines'...
Hey look at Dickey, he's flipping off the dealer cuz he didnt get anythin to stash! HAHA jk
Poor Owen... stuck in the Mouse's Mouth.
"kaleidoscope of ruffians" now I LIKE that! Great name for a band or an album.
Of course, I am partial to ruffians too. Always beena sucker for a bad boy.
Rapscallions, one and all. Somebody set that gear up and get these dudes focused or we ain't getting no work done today!
Posted by: Paco Malo at October 4, 2008 08:14 AMStarla, no euphemisms, Owen is stuck inside a "Rat's Mouth", es verdad!
Posted by: Paco Malo at October 4, 2008 09:53 AMMouse, rat, gerbil, hamster.. it's all the same to me when I try out my one year of taught-by-a-raving-paranoid-lunatic high school Spanish.
Regardless, Owen is clearly unhappy in whichever mouth he's stuck in, and needs cheering up.
*leans down, peers into rat's mouth* Hola, mi tortuga! Besame mucho!
Happy Birthday coming up. Call me. Love you!!!

Posted by: csason at October 5, 2008 09:45 AMWhat you just did, amigo, is known in the trade as Espa`nol de los Porcos! Or, putting the Latin in Pig Latin!
Posted by: Estrella, la Senorita Mas Fina at October 5, 2008 10:59 AMGal you really got some great pics here! He was the greatest, no doubt. Do you know where I can find the picture of him kneeling down in the studio while talking to The King who seated and holding his sax? Thanks.
Posted by: Joshua at October 6, 2008 02:07 PMStarla:
Un preludio a un beso? Owen afortunado.
Paco
P.S. Owen, that was one bad Spanish teacher, Cararamba, Meo Dio; sing "Day-O!" whenever on of those "James Joyce moments" hits. Or was that just a good flashback. ;-D
Posted by: Paco Malo at October 7, 2008 09:27 AMYo quiero Paco! Macho! Ay caramba!
Damn, I wish I had had a better Spanish teacher! I picked up more Spanish from Sesame Street, but somehow those words don't go far enough.
Es Verdad, Darlata Starlita.
Paco

*hides behind her lace fan* How I love a Latin lover!
Here I'm all aflame, and it isn't even Wednesday yet!
And here I thought "all aflame" was your cruise control. ;)
Posted by: Donnah at October 7, 2008 09:42 PMActually, my cruise control mode is more like a high simmer. Bubbling, but not quite to boiling. This has advantages (ask my Dustin), but it also has drawbacks: I've also got a fiery temper (again, ask Dustin about this.)
Posted by: Starla Darling at October 7, 2008 10:18 PMHere is what I remember from that stinky lady that taught Spanish at Manatee High School..in that musky stinky room..
Mi llamo es Owen, Como se llamo ? Es Senorita es muy bonito, verdad ?
and the number veinte. and I probably didn't spell
any of it right..and I don't care, and this is 'merica, goddammit..speak english, ya freaks.
You just keep that flame drive stoked up there, Starla of Dustin, if Paco jumps up on the bar..I'll drop all this Southern charm and pump his stomach.
Posted by: csason at October 9, 2008 07:41 AMOur Spanish teacher was anorexic (in her forties, mind you) had two-inch long fingernails, and was often observed weaving up and down the halls, mumbling to herself. As I said, Maria and Luis from Sesame Street were much better teachers.
Be nice to my Paco, Owen! He's a doll.
