Politics can lead to extreme silliness on both sides:

Describing this as "silliness" is the silly part.

Did it give me a heart attack? No. Do I think it's silly to worship an empty suit as a Messiah? Yes, and I've said that many times.

The link is broken..

here is the identifier of a new one..

It bothers me because why is it that Obama is being lauded as the provider of all these high aspirations
these boys have..Because of Obama ?? That is a little like Kim Jong isn't it ??
Another thing..Why just black kids..are you gonna friggin tell me my kids have to stand even further
back in the line as the result of His Highness ??

If I don't put 'other' down on an application, I don't even get a call..how is that fair ?

*rolls eyes* In the last five or six months, I have checked "other" on so many job applications (they rarely even bother to have a more accurate box for me to check) that I feel liek Other is my second middle name; and it has not gotten me anywhere.
Sorry, but I just get so fed up sometimes when white people throw themselves a pity party and think "Oh, if I was black/Mexican/Indian/Chinese/Hottentot/whatever, I'd have a fair shot." It's B.S. and nothing is ever as cut and dried as all that.
*steps down off soapbox*

I disagree, you have mocked the notion of his presence causing a sex like sensation, but this is, as you say, much like Messiah worship and the exploitation of children.

I wasn't nervous either, that wasn't fair to say, and it was pricklier language than your reaction to anything that has occurred this year.
It's like in a movie when someone calls a friend and they speak in an uncharacteristic manner, and that tips off the friend something is wrong.

You're on conservative blogrolls anywhere the web's available, and you're not there by saying, silly things, witty yes, silly no.
But I get it now, I'm slow, you know.

I'm really not understanding what all you're referring to, Nancy, or even if you're talking to me alone. I'm not a political firebrand; never have been. If you want to attack the video for what you think it stands for, go ahead. Most of the negative comments directed at me personally that I've received though are from people who think I'm too conservative, so you're in the minority there.

Well.. I'm just glad this campaign isn't about race..otherwise I'd be suspicious about those 95%
blacks voting for 'bama.

How sickening it is to me, the 'worst of the worst' in the eyes of the typical Obama supporter, a
white male southerner..
I was THERE when the schools were desegregated, I made friends. I have worked and lived with people from all walks of life, I have carefully and lovingly tended to dozens and dozens of 'other' people when I was providing health care services, and even saved a few lives..in code situations.

As a boss/supervisor, I promoted and raised the salaries of many, many, non-white folks..

Why I point all this out is that in spite of the fact that most people from the South DID NOT own slaves, nor is the typical Southerner ANYTHING like the hateful stereotype that is portrayed in the media, we have been awarded our own special
category ...

The actual attitude I have been getting lately is almost palpable...just because I am white, and from the south.. I OWE somebody something ??

Frankly, it's disgusting..
