Melvin Clark Jr. Is An Involved Father

This is just like back in the beginning when Adam used to make Cain and Abel go at it in cage matches:

A father forced his two sons to fight each other because one had pushed the other off his bicycle, police said.

Melvin J. Clark Jr., 30, of the first block of Jack Ray Drive in Wentzville, [Missouri,] is charged with one count endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say Clark "orchestrated" a fight between his two sons, 10, and 9, on Oct. 18 in the street in front of his home. Police say up to four other relatives formed a circle in the street around the boys and watched as they fought in front of their home.

Clark would pause the fight as cars drove past and resume after they were gone, police said. The fight ended when one of the boys asked his dad to stop, after which Clark kicked him in the ribs, called him a girl and sent him into the house.

During the fight, one of the boys fell and hit his head on the curb, police said. The boy tried to stop, but Clark called him names and forced him to keep fighting.

Captain Kevin Pyatt of the Wentzville Police Department said a school nurse at Heritage Intermediate School in Wentzville treated one of the boys for injuries. The boys are in fourth grade. The school's nurse relayed the boy's statements to a case worker, who called police.

Wentzville police are still investigating and may apply for additional charges, Pyatt said.

One of the boys had bruises around his right eye and scratches from his left ear lobe to his chin, authorities said. The other boy suffered a bruise on his left cheek.

Clark is being held at the St. Charles County Jail on a $20,000 cash-only bail.

I don't guess he'll be getting to see his pit puppies for a while. They might not think that's such a bad thing.

WOW! My Dad would just knock our head together. He said it was because it was even and gave both kids something they could agree on. (that it hurt!)

My uncle did that too. Only two of my boy cousins were dumb enough to start arguing that he'd grabbed or hit one head harder than the other. I always expected to hear a hollow sound when those two knocked heads. lol

Jesus, what is it with people from that area?
Every news story I hear about from there convinces me that if I have to plan a road trip that passes through Missouri I'd be best off driving around rather than through.

I don't know.. Missourians are some of the best of what made America great..Too bad we don't need that
kind of people anymore.

The kind that seem to bring a premium are the
ones that are of the 'useful idiots' variety.

My cousin used to pay his boys a quarter, just to go beat somebody up. They sure are tough fellers now.
I just can't see many places where the nanny state does much good anymore. Let this man raise his boys with a bit of reality..they will need it, unless we think we're gonna be better off with a bunch of wussies..

Owen, have you ever read any books by James Lee Burke? Mystery writer. In one of his Dave Robichaux books, he has the main character talk about "the pool." I don't remember the exact passage or I'd annoy you all by quoting it in full, but basically the "pool" is like the underbelly, the people who make sure that cops, social workers, parole officers and so on are always overworkerd, and they never get out of the pool no matter how they're punished or helped. "The pool" is the only place they can function. This bunch in the article is probably of "the pool" and we can expect to hear lots more about these boys as they grow up.
