If You Leave Me Now I'll Take Away The Biggest Part Of You

Muzzamill Hassan was all about bridges. The other day he made alterations to the span connecting his wife's head to her chest:

Police say an upstate New York man concerned about the negative portrayal of Muslims in the media beheaded his wife after she filed for divorce.

Muzzammil Hassan is charged with murdering his wife, Aasiya Hassan. Police say she had an order of protection against her husband and he had been kicked out of the house they shared in Orchard Park, near Buffalo.

They accuse the 44-year-old Hassan of cutting off his wife's head at the TV station where he launched his Bridges TV network in 2004. In an AP interview, he said he hoped the network would balance negative portrayals of Muslims following the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Hassan surrendered at the police station after his wife's death.

Again we see an infuriating lack of assimilation in the immigrant populace. An American would have shot her.

Come on, it isn't everybody that comes to the US and manages to get a head!

...aw, cmon, Ms. Cracker. I am so disappointed in you writing this. I live in Orchard Park, NY. The woman was an American. Kind, loving mother, involved in charities. Does it matter to you that this Bridges TV station is right next door to a regional Christian fundamentalist station, and they had mutual respect for each other's purpose? She was married to a jealous controlling abusive psycho. Let me know when the funny part starts. There was also a terrible plane crash near Buffalo that killed 50 people. If ONE death makes you hee hee haw haw, you must have peed your pants over the plane crash.

The IRONY of this tale is that it's so IRONIC that a cause intended to bridge cultural understanding IRONICLY used the same method of revenge that culture is IRONICLY noted for.
The IRONICOUCINESS of it cracks me up.

The only thing humorous about a plane crashing would be if it was IRONCLY name "Unplummetable".

and it is so IRONIC that the Christian Station is adjacent to his. That's so original...

I'm surprised Bridges was tolerant of Christians.
Nice token.

My philosophy is, anytime you can laugh instead of cry, laugh, even if other people think you've got a screw loose or are really twisted

Ah... you guys, we just need to take the time to "understand his feelings". We really need to stop being so judgmental of the religion of "peace".

I think *this* qualifies as homegrown.

It's certainly not the first honor killing to take place here in America..but it *is* the most exciting
one in the last few years.

Boil this down, minus the sensational aspects of it, and it's plain old ordinary domestic murder, and nobody, not one group, culture, creed, etc. has the market cornered on that. It's basically no different than any case you might hear about on the news of a "typical American" couple where the wife wants to leave and the husband doesn't take the rejection well and offs her. Only difference is, this guy did it much more flamboyantly.
And sticking the "honor killing" label onto just sensationalizes it even more.

Wasn't there a taxi driver that killed his two
daughter's in Texas recently that did it for their honor ??

Whatever..it is very messed up to think after we get over the sensation of beheading's we will soon be seeing how many a day turn up. That's the way it has been with murder in this country..then rape, now this.

You see, I recall when Miami was able to claim the distinction of having a 'murder a day' added to it's tourism profile, that has long since been passe.
But I am an old bastard, and I remember a lot of shit.
