Checkin out the pictures. Great! Reading previous blogs here I see you have Cowboy fans aboard.
Cowboy's Tommy Talton and Scott Boyer, Brian Mitchell, Sheryl Crow showed up the other night at the Beacon. They did a cool "Please be with me" and talked about recording with the great Duane Allman.
Copy and paste to read about it. Page down and read here

the intensity..
Posted by: Baron Thoma at March 18, 2009 11:07 PMAnyone notice something unusual about these two shots?
A true neurotic will pick it up in a flash......
Posted by: mike the bike at March 19, 2009 12:29 AMGregg is wearing Duane's shirt in the second pic.
It's a southern thang..
Posted by: csason at March 19, 2009 06:31 AMno.......
Posted by: mike the bike at March 19, 2009 07:45 AMStrat? I don't see Gregg in the second one.....I know that ax looks different. Mike?
Thank you Donnah, intensity is the word of the hour in this one. That boy had it goin' on!
Wail on, Skydog!
Posted by: cindy at March 19, 2009 10:02 AMNope. Sorry.
One more wrong answer and I will give a clue. Another wrong answer and I'll be starting to hum the tune to final jeopardy.
Posted by: Mike The Bike at March 19, 2009 10:13 AMOk, I'm game.....cig is in place, same strap...not the circle Zebo one though...beer on organ...no Jamoe in either pic....no Dickey either...clue please.I'm pretty anal so you have me going nuts about now!
Posted by: cindy at March 19, 2009 10:26 AMIs it that Duane is playing slide with his middle finger? It's hard to tell. Kinda fuzzy.
Awesome pic Donnah! Thanks.
Posted by: Lisa at March 19, 2009 10:50 AMMust have been one of the times he busted his fingers up working on his bike. Thank you Lisa & Mike, now I can go back to work.
Ya'll have yourselves a good weekend!
Posted by: cindy at March 19, 2009 11:01 AMYay! Do I win any fabulous prizes? :)
Posted by: Lisa at March 19, 2009 11:33 AMShoot, I'll never make a good detective. I had no idea what Mike was talking about. Duh! It's really pretty obvious, isn't it?
Lisa, you have a choice of prizes: a free strawberry milkshake in a jumbo personalized cup, or a four-foot-high flamingo to plant in your yard.
Plus, your name goes into the jar for a random drawing at one of the swamp parties.
How about a strawberry shake in a four-foot-high personalized cup? :)
Posted by: Lisa at March 19, 2009 12:48 PMAre you planning to drink that shake, Lisa, or take a bath in it?
And I expect you were too polite to ask what the prize was that you're in the running for, but I'll tell you:
The grand prize is the souped-up, tricked-out Cadillac from No Money Down!
*Lisa squeals and jumps all around like somebody on The Price Is Right*
Aw nice pic!!!
I always love the shots of Duane 'coaxing a note into place'
Looks to me like Done Somebody Wrong since Gregg isnt at the B3.
...man I wish I had hair like Greggs... Im just too impatient to grow it, and it doesnt look good AT ALL! (>_<)
Now, for just one night, I did have the mutton chops + mustache that Duane had... But I need the long hair for any of that. I ENVY MY BRO!! He has awesome long hair, similar in flow to Warrens but curlier at the ends.
lol Starla. Well, I didn't want to seem too eager to ask. Might ruin my luck at winning. :) Sure hope it comes with that ship to shore radio. :D And especially the feather bed and a pillow in the backseat in case Duane shows up. :O
I thought maybe we could all share the four foot cup as a water pipe after we drink the milkshake! Mm hmmmm. Everyone please feel free to bring your own 5 foot straws.
Posted by: Lisa at March 19, 2009 04:46 PMYeah, it's got the feather bed and the pillow all ready. I think I should test it out first, make sure it's okay. Wouldn't want a lumpy mattress or a sneezing fit to spoil any moments, now would I?
We can no doubt make straws out of those giant swamp reeds. Eco-friendly, doncha know?
Ben, talking of long hair: my guy had a real nice long ponytail, then he got it MULLETED so he could go as Dog the Bounty Hunter lat Halloween. Just about broke my heart. And broke it again the day after Halloween when he got the whole thing cut short.
*sniffles*
"coaxing a note into place" - that's so cool Ben.
I wish I had hair like Gregg's too! He must have used Breck. Anybody remember that stuff?
Posted by: Lisa at March 19, 2009 04:58 PMI hear beer is a great hair conditioner. Though I doubt Gregg would want to waste beer that way.
Posted by: Starla Darling at March 19, 2009 05:04 PMok, just a note to say it happened tonight! A guy sat in named Eric Clapton and played some stuff off the Layla lp. Derek played better than I ever heard him. Perfect foil for Eric. Awesome night! Great playing...
Posted by: Sheila at March 19, 2009 11:28 PMI'll be there tonight, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Posted by: mike the bike at March 20, 2009 07:41 AMMike you are one lucky mofo. How many shows have you seen plus are going to see all together?

From the sounds of it, a dvd may eventually make it too the shelves Ben! Woo, Woo! Beacon tonight!
Rock on, NYC, Rock on, and have a good time!
Posted by: Sheila at March 21, 2009 02:19 PMOOPs! Correction required, it was a triple lead on Liz Reed, Warren, Eric, and Derek! Killer night, Moogis has been worth its weight in GOLD! Man, they even film them from the back, so you can see the audience!
Posted by: Sheila at March 21, 2009 02:28 PMHere are some awesome pictures of the show last night! Gives you some idea what the Moogis experience is like. The shows are recorded for playback anytime up until Sept.

A DVD!?!? WOOHOO!!!
Oh and Sheila, "404 Page Not Found" =(
Yea I chatted with my bro over the weekend cuz of my birthday... says I should just stick it out and grow my hair... but I ABSOLUTELY HATE the messy mop-top I get! =/ I dunno... but if it turns out nice it would be good to keep for a while... and then I would look better with the facial hair that pays homage to Duanes style! B)
Posted by: Ben at March 23, 2009 04:32 PMYou stick with it, Ben. The awkward stage really won't last that long, and think of the fun you'll have once it's the right length!
Just be a little patient. If I could grow my hair Crystal Gayle length (well, not quite that long) you can manage to grow your hair Duane length. Take a lot less time too. Probably be a lot easier to take care than mine was too. lol Good luck!
Ben, Sorry, they moved the page. Here it is again. Even though they moved it you can look to the right and click on the ABB update about the 40th anniversary show.

People need to check out that swampland website. There are lots of interviews on file Tom Dowd, Tommy Talton, Scott Boyer and more. And for the ladies, the picture of the day is the skinny dippin' Allman Brothers Band with some band members heads placed so that all the 'goods' aren't displayed. Staring at this for a while might induce Duane fueled dreams that you can write us about in future posts.
Posted by: Willard at March 24, 2009 04:43 PMHeh heh heh. Rest assured, I've stared at my birthday pic long and hard. (Oops, unintended hilarity there. Try again.)
*clears throat*
As I said, I've spent a goodly length (oh crap, it ain't gonna work!)
*speaks very quickly*
As I said I have doen my fair share of staring at my birthday pics in the hopes of fuelling "sweet dreams." You see, as a general rule I don't remember my dreams all that well, unless they were eithe rvery bad or just too funny to forget. For all I know I could have been having some of the fabulous Duane Dreams anybody ever thought to have and just don't remember.
Maybe I should stare at the Swampland pic a while too.
There, got through that without plunging into... dammit, Willard!
Dear Starla,
I hope you have a long, hard birthday.
