Cracker Winter Tour II

We made it to India safely and are currently ensconced in the airy porcine heights that suit us. We love this hotel and it was worth having our life flash before our eyes the hundred different times that occurred on the drive over to get here. I've driven in Boston with all my passengers screaming and finally the shoe was on the other foot.
Here's our view. More pics later:

The Crowne Plaza is a nice place.. run into any slumdogs ?

Not here at the Plaza. There's security to get within the perimeter (they look under the car) and you go through a metal detector to go in the front door. At the airport though I did see some hard-eyed little boys that made me clutch my bags fiercely.

I wouldn't think so...we stayed at one in Atlanta..or Miama, can't remember.. :P

Hope y'all are enjoying your trip..the globe trotting Cracker's !

Thanks for the pics, Donnah! It is just great to see your footprints in Paris and now your view from the Crowne Plaza! As soon as I get my software loaded on the computer I'll start sending pictures of two very sweet little girls. They miss you guys but are happy to have Nana baby sitting because they are being treated like QUEENS! I heard them snickering about some of the tricks they have pulled! Shiloh jumped into the lake this morning and insisted that Lily told her to do it! Snicker, snicker!

Hugs to you both!

That seems like such a fabulous hotel. But I have a question: In India, are all the hotels run by Americans? lol (Like all the hotels in the US seem to be run by Indian or Pakistani people.)
Well, I'm off bright and early tomorrow, to visit the other kind of Indians. :) So Merry Xmas to all of you in Cracker Land, and have a safe trip, Donnah and the Mister. Love y'all, and big hugs and kisses all around.

I love the pics, Donnah.
Is that my camera?

As a Cracker from Georgia (and most days you'll find me wearing either my 1957 or 1962 Atlanta Crackers cap) my question about Europe would be:

Can you get decent boiled peanuts over there?

Posted by: Surfer Joe at December 21, 2009 01:02 AM

No, I did not take your camera to India, Nancy. It's right where you left it. Or is it?

Joe, my nose has detected many a pungent odor here, but not the very distinctive stinktastic smell of delicious bohhhhhhhhhled peanuts.

You must educate these people, Donnah. Don't let them stay in a cultural vacuum.

For a major freak factor anywhere (outside of Georgia/North Florida), get a Coke, drink a few sips to make room, and pour a little packet of salted peanuts in it. Tastes great, always causes talk. Bonus points: call it "Co-Cola".

If you choose to portray the Ugly American (they probably expect it), call everybody "you people" and make a lot of cracks about World War II. Or pretend to be from Texas and mock the size of everything: "Yew cawl thet a Mawsque??!!"

Naah, jest tell 'em all Gomer says 'hey'!"

Nancy's camera is on the dining room table - at least someone left a camera in a case here. I was going to send it over, but guess I should hold off on that??? So, Donna, moderator of the blog, do you want me to send personal messages like this to an email address instead of the blog?

Becky, I'm just messing with her :)
It would be my privilege for them to use anything I have to document this riveting expedition.
